Day 11: Go Go Plant 2

31 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, be sure to check out the about page in the top right hand corner!

As the rain comes down on this Memorial Day, I figured I would provide one of my FAVORITE ways to pass the time: playing Go Go Plant 2!

Not only is the music just freaking sweet, but the concept of it is so bizarre and awesome that it always brings a smile to my face.

This is dedicated to my faithful follower, Kaitlin. Make sure you get some fresh air this time and try not to play it for hours and hours XD

enjoy!!

Day 10: Wes Anderson American Express Card

30 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, check out the about page in the top right hand corner.

How’s it going everyone?

Today, I’m a bit low on time (I’m playing Monopoly, which I’m never really optimistic about), so I will leave you with a great commercial.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a pretty big Wes Anderson fan. His movies are amazingly cool and the concepts are pretty sweet. Plus they feature like all of my favorite actors (like Jason Schwartzman, who is actually a cameo in this video).

This video is pretty awesome because, as Paste Magazine puts it, it’s a Wes Anderson commercial about making a Wes Anderson commercial about making a Wes Anderson movie. I love it, and I think it’s awesome. So enjoy! And wish me luck ;)

Day 9: A Day Out In Eugene

29 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, check out the about page in the top right hand corner!

How’s the world where you are, world? Today, in Eugene, it was wonderfully beautiful! The sun was shining, the air was cool, the temperature was fantastic. It was a great day to spend the day outside. And that is exactly what we did.

A friend of mine and I spent the mid-morning at the Saturday Market, and after a very long walk (and a quick change in characters), we had travelled from one end of Eugene to the other. So much walking, but so much fun!

After taking lots of pictures (and touching up the colors and things), I present you with a Day Out In Eugene

Cute house on 8th st.

Day 8: Australia by The Shins

28 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, be sure to check out the about page in the top right hand corner!

Today, I get to share quite possibly my favorite music video of all time. Why? Well, I think it’s adorkable. And it’s The Shins….

This video is so sweet and innocent, and I love watching it when it’s dreary outside or I’m unhappy. Instant smile. So enjoy, Australia by The Shins.

Day 7: Sweet Life

27 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, be sure to check out the about page in the top right hand corner.

Today, I was going through my phone’s pictures when I came across some lovely pics of yummy cake.

Basically, if you live in Eugene, you need to go to Sweet Life.

This little bakery (found on the corner of 8th and Monroe) is a hole in the wall where you can buy a slice of the most god-like cake for 5 dollars or less. Plus their coffee is to die for.

I’ve been there twice since I arrived in Eugene, and both times I’ve tasted the sweet love of Orange Mocha Mousse Cake, which is like a solid block of orange chocolate with white mocha filling and another layer of solid chocolate on top. It is. It’s. I can’t even tell you.

Just take a gander at these slices of yummy:

Jamie's yummy Rasberry pie/cake thing.

Orange mocha cake. so heavenly.

I couldn't help it! It was so good!!

Seriously. Sweet life. Check it out because it is freaking incredible!!!

Day 6: Wheres Your Love Go by Slimpickins

26 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, check out the about page in the top right hand corner.

Good news everyone! I just found out that I get to write for an online magazine called “Sick Of The Radio!” I’ll post the link at a later date when I actually have writing online…

Apart from that, I had a fantastic moment today…

As I was walking to my Jazz history class, I noticed how bright and sunny it was, considering the impending rain storm on the way. I carried my canvas bag instead of my backpack, and I left my sweatshirt lying gracefully on my bed.

However, as I exited my class around 5:20, I noticed that it had not only begun to rain outside, but it was pouring. And by pouring, I mean pouring.

My classroom is about 10-15 minutes walking distance from my dorm, and I was stuck with a canvas bag, bare shoulders, flats on my feet, and a skirt. And as I took the trek home I not only practically destroyed my shoes, I got completely and utterly soaked.

But instead of freaking out about the situation, I laughed.

I laughed and laughed.

What a weird and glorious world this is that I would underestimate the power of Oregon weather! But at least it caught me ready and willing to walk home in the rain.

Anyways, on my way home, I put on my favorite little weird band that I heard over spring break. They’re called Slimpickins, and apart from playing in front of Starbucks, they are known for playing festivals and pubs around the Seattle area. They are so adorable, and their songs always make me smile.

So enjoy their song “Wheres Your Love Go”, with a slideshow of pictures!

Day 5: Happy Birthday Flashmob

25 May

Hello there! If this is your first time on the website, be sure to check out the about page in the top right hand corner!

Hopefully you all are having such a nice day today! I know I am (even though it’s pouring outside).

First of all, this website has been looked at almost 100 times in the past 5 days, so thanks so much! I really appreciate the love and all of you.

Second of all, the video I have for you today is quite possibly the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a long time! I promise to take some pictures for the blog in the upcoming weeks, but I just had to share this with you.

Some of you may have already seen this video before, but it nearly made me cry the first time I saw it! Here’s the back story:

A bus driver in Denmark picked up what he thought was just an ordinary group of citizens on a daily trip, but he soon learned that they were working together to give him the best birthday ever. I dare you to watch this and not smile:

I’m not gonna lie, this makes me cry everytime I watch it. There are some truly wonderful people in the world.
