Tonight, I heard a fantastic song on one of my favorite tv shows (“How I Met Your Mother”).

Since I’m a little out of it, I will let you guys enjoy it yourselves.

It reminds me of pretty things.

Enjoy “Gorgeous Behavior” by Marching Band.

Day 130: The Limit To Your Love by Feist

28 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

The fall is here (even though the weather outside is deceptively hot). I will update the blog with more pictures once the leaves turn, but for right now, fall is creeping into my thoughts.

What does it mean? It means that my fall music playlist is taken down from the closet, brushed off a bit, and put onto my iPod. And what’s the best music for fall? Folk.

Well, for me folk is good for all times of the year, but it has a strange effect on me in the autumn. I start to feel the cold breeze (hypothetically, of course, since it was like 80 degrees here today), I see the leaves change color and fall to the ground, I smell the pumpkin spice, and I watch the campus come to life. It’s really beautiful.

So when I’m feeling in the fall-mood, I like to start off with some Feist. Her voice is soothing, and, while it’s not exactly folk music, it reminds me of the season.

Today, I picked “The Limit To Your Love” by Feist, not because of the topic, but because it reminds me of the autumn feeling. It’s dark and light, sweet and smooth, and it always makes me want to walk slower and take it all in.

There is no limit to my love for this song (I know, I had to). So hopefully you’ll enjoy “The Limit To Your Love” by Feist as much as I do.

P.S. if you’ve never heard her CD The Reminder, check it out. It’s very very good!

Day 129: The Science of Sleep

27 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I was thinking about a really good movie today called The Science Of Sleep (2006), starring the BEAUTIFUL Gael García Bernal and the LOVELY Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Right before the movie came out in theaters, I watched the preview religiously for two months. And by religiously, I mean that I was obsessed. But there was something intriguing about the movie that I couldn’t figure out.

The plot is pretty complex: a man named Stéphane (Gael García Bernal) confuses his dreams with reality constantly, and as his father dies, he comes to the realization that his life has to start. He moves back to Paris (where his mother lives) to work for a calendar company but doesn’t fit in with its staff. Really, he doesn’t fit in with anyone…. except for his strange but sweet neighbor Stéphanie, who likes to see the world in a different way.

The film is strange and switches back and forth between reality and dream-sequences. But because of its strangeness, it is quite appealing and sweet.

But the preview makes me warm on the insides:

I highly urge everyone to check out this movie. Seriously.

(as an added bonus, I included the full length Death Cab For Cutie song that is featured in this trailer… It’s called “Your Heart Is An Empty Room”

the other two songs are called “After Hours” by The Velvet Underground and “Fear Of Sleep” by The Strokes)

Day 128: Crystalized by The xx

26 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Today, I wanted to feature a song that has been in my head since I first heard it. “Crystalized” by The xx is surprisingly catchy, and is fun to sing along to. While the band seems very serious, the song doesn’t follow in their footsteps!

So enjoy “Crystalized” by The xx (because you’ll probably have it stuck in your head for days)

Day 127: The University of Oregon Fight Song!

The Ducks (my team!) are playing Arizona State University today! Let’s go Ducks!

In honor of my favorite team, I’ve decided to post the UO Fight Song! Clap along, if you like!

Day 126: [BELATED] Sorry Charlie by Ween

25 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Once again, I’ve freaking forgot to update my blog! I apologize everyone, my day ran a wee bit late last night so it’s been a weird couple of hours.

Anyway, to say sorry, I picked “Sorry Charlie” by Ween (a weird little ditty from the bottom of my heart). Enjoy!

Day 125: I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) by The Four Tops

23 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I was on a mission to find a fantastic song called “Honey Bunch” by Karl Grell (by the way, if you find this song, listen to it and let me know what you think the genre is!! I can’t figure it out!)

Anyway, I was looking for the song for the blog today, not only to celebrate my favorite song from It’s Always Sunny (It’s thursday!) but to celebrate a great song in general!

But I was unable to find it…

Instead, I found a fantastic soul song that I completely forgot about: “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” by The Four Tops. This classic is fantastic and fun to sing along to!

So enjoy (and remember) “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” by The Four Tops.
