Day 294: The Rest Of Your Life by Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs

2 May

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of days… it’s been a crazy weekend! I’ve been partying, “The Room”-ing it, chilling with Seattle peeps, and seeing concerts, so I haven’t had much time to update!

Unfortunately, I’ll have to keep this short tonight, mainly because I have to pass out soon, but I wanted to share a really neat song off of Holly Golightly & The Brokeoff’s new CD No Help Coming.

While I was in Portland yesterday, I got to preview this CD for a little while, and I was totally digging it. It’s folky, bluesy, and all sorts of awesome!

I hope you enjoy “The Rest Of Your Life”, and check out their CD out now! (also, I’ll be posting longer tomorrow!)

Day 39: The Electric Love Letter by Langhorne Slim

28 Jun

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page (located under the title) for more info on my project. Also, please sign the guestbook!

How is your night tonight? Mine is going pretty okay… relaxing before another night of work tomorrow. But as for now it’s only positive!

So today I discovered my love for the actor Jay Baruchel (aka the “She’s Out Of Your League” guy), and I watched a really great movie he stars in called “I’m Reed Fish.” It’s a quirky, indie rom-com about a love triangle in a very small town. While it’s a little odd, and features one of my least favorite actresses ever (*cough*ALEXISBLEDEL*coughcough*), it is really adorable and beautifully filmed.

Check it out! (click here to watch the preview)

Now, the song I featured today was no where near this movie at all, but the movie reminded me of another indie rom-com that I love… “Waitress”!

This movie is adorable, featuring Keri Russel, some of the most amazing looking pies ever, Nathan Fillion, and the song for today! (check out the preview for “Waitress” here!)

I consider Langhorne Slim folky, and this song just reinstates that idea for me. But regardless of this, I never fail to smile every time I hear it. It just makes my day :)

So I hope you enjoy it too! (And check out both those movies! They’re grrrrrrrrrrreat!)
