Day 182: Love

13 Dec

Love is a many splendorous thing, eh?

Well, for today I wanted to feature a simple game from armor games about love!

All you do is connect the squares together without crashing into the walls or into the other black squares. And that’s really it, all you do is keep it up!

But even in it’s simplicity, it is very calming!

Enjoy “Love”.

Day 148: The Underdog by Spoon

16 Oct

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Hey guys. So, due to a computer malfunction (aka, me dropping cold tea on my laptop’s keyboard), my computer is a little different. Last night, I updated from my phone… and today I have a portable keyboard ready to type. But I apologize if my blog is updated at weird hours because I can’t technically type anything without this portable keyboard.

But it got me thinking… My computer is failing, and now the portable keyboard (also known as “The Underdog”) stepped in to take the shot at the game. So far so good!

Okay, yeah I’m not that lame to think of that… but I did want to feature one of my favorite, happy-sounding songs ever: “The Underdog” by Spoon!

I got a chance to see the band back in May, and they were fantastic. So great to hear, so beautiful to look at (I’m talking to you, Brit Daniels!)

Anyway, enjoy “The Underdog” by Spoon!

Day 120: Fighter X!

17 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

So, back for a bit more!

With the recent popularity of “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” (or, more specifically, it’s soundtrack), 8-bit music is making a comeback!

Now, what is 8-bit exactly? Well, first let me give you a taste

8-bit is basically music made from programs based off of video game systems (mostly from Nintendo’s Gameboy!). The beats are remixed and programed to get a totally sound that is just fantastic!

Now this stuff is everywhere! There’s bands all over the country, and even some in other countries like Japan. But in my hometown of Seattle, 8-bit is running rampant in the underground music scene.

I have actually gotten to know a few of the artists through other things (Leeni, who is pretty freaking sweet in person and on audio, and her side-project BiForce are two that I adore), but one in specific always sticks out on my playlist: Fighter X.

His real name is Nickolas Walthew (and for a while Jack Waterman of “Circles” fame was appearing in the band too), and he is one of the most prominent 8-bit bands out there right now. I’ve actually had a chance to see him perform live (which was AWESOME) and even briefly moshed with him for like 5 minutes (Nick, if your reading this, I don’t expect you to remember this, haha! This was like 2 years ago). I’ve been a fan since then and even own a couple CDs.

What makes his music so great is the complexity of the tunes! Anyone can take an old gameboy song and remix it (the most popular remixed track of game-fame is Legend of Zelda…. I find more that song more than anything!). But Fighter X actually takes this whole LSDJ (which is a program used to remix these songs) thing and turns it into something completely original and even intense!!

Come check his work out at his Myspace, or at 8bc!

Day 112: Flock Together

9 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Normally, I try to avoid putting two types of posts together (unless it’s a theme week), but I found this game tonight that I want to share desperately!

The game is called “Flock Together,” and it is simple and sweet. A little girl has lost her best friend, a sheep, in the clouds (it was tied to a balloon). So, using your mouse and arrow keys, you have to gather a flock of birds to reach your best friend in the sky.

It’s adorable and easy to do (I suggest aiming for the albatross and the hawk.)

So enjoy “Flock Together”!

Day 106: Treadmillasaurus Rex

3 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Tonight a short post!

I found Treadmillasaurus Rex on armor games the other night, and it is a pile of hilarious awesomeness. You are a T-Rex running on a treadmill, and you have to avoid all obstacles, trying to get as many calories burned as possible. There’s spike balls, confetti, lazers, and tall hats!

It’s actually pretty difficult, to be honest with you. But it’s still fun!

So enjoy, Treadmillasaurus Rex!!

Day 96: Achievement Unlocked!

24 Aug

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I don’t have much for you tonight, as I’m trying to get ready for my trip to California tomorrow, but I do have something fun to keep you busy!

It’s a game called “Achievement Unlocked”… and the point is to unlock all the achievements to the right side of the screen. Some are as simple as jumping in the air for 20 seconds or clicking the mute button, but some are as difficult as trying to solve mathematical equations (I’ll give you a hint, hit 2-5-3 in order…)

Blue elephants? Polka music? Silly achievements? What’s not to love!

So enjoy “Achievement Unlocked!”

Also, if you’re up for it, try to get through achievement unlocked 2… so much harder and it’s intennnnse!
