Day 261: Hey London by Chiddy Bang

2 Mar

Hey everyone!

This is my JAM for today! As you probably already know, I’m a pretty big fan of Chiddy Bang (from this post)… I feel like they are one of the more fun hip hop artists that have come out of the past couple of years, although I could be wrong (as you can probably tell I’m not the most experienced writer of Hip-hop)

Anyway, this song is actually kind of silly… I love the chorus:

“Hey London
I know you’ve never seen me before
And though I’d love to stay and kick it some more
I gotta get back on my tour
So the only thing I gotta say is
Hey London
You gotta know I love ya for sure
Just let me in cos you opened the door
If I gotta get back on my tour…”

I mean, it’s literally about how this guy came to London, but he has to leave now. Really? That’s awesome (at least in my opinion)

So jam it out today to “Hey London” by Chiddy Bang!

EDIT: This post is dedicated to my friend Emilio, mainly because he’s the one that introduced me to Chiddy Bang in the first place!

Day 254: Don’t Let The Devil by Jackie Greene

24 Feb

Hey everyone!

For today’s post, I wanted to get some blues out there (to essentially contribute to the stormy weather).

A few weeks back, me and Michael, a friend of mine, went to see Jackie Greene at WOW Hall. I had zero expectations, so I was thoroughly surprised at how great the concert was! With the bluesy-rock feel and the Hendrix-style guitar solos, I became an instant fan.

I loved how Jackie Greene used all different guitars and instruments to explore the genre he was rocking, actively getting the audience to feel the music like he does. With two acts, a fantastic arrangement of guitars, a 70s electric organ (can you say LOVE?!), and a great voice, he embodied the soul of the 70s. Impressive for such a young artist!

Anyway I had a great time at the concert (thanks Mike!) and I’m proud to say that I’m a Jackie Greene fan from now on!

Here’s an acoustic version of “Don’t Let The Devil” (which was one of my favorite songs he played). It’s really awesome and I’m glad to see this guy still rocks hard acousticly as well as full-band-ly.

Enjoy “Don’t Let The Devil” by Jackie Greene!

Day 228: It’s time for some more super rad AQUABATS!

28 Jan

Hello there!

As I am writing this post, I’m listening to the AQUABATS! HOORAY!

It’s always an epic day when the Aquabats are on!

So for the post today, I wanted to feature another one of their songs! But the question is, which one?!

I am going to feature not 1

not 2,

but 3 songs… all from their album Charge!! (2005)! OHHH YEAAAH

(this blogpost is just stalling. I guess I’ll have a more in depth post later this week… maybe Sunday).

Song #1: Plastic Lips

The song is about a guy who falls in love with a doll. Yeah. That’s right. You heard me.

Weirdly enough, it’s like my favorite song off of the whole CD… so just give it a listen!

Song #2: Look At Me (I’m A Winner)

I mean, just by the title you know this song rocks. It’s one of my favorite get-me-out-of-a-bad-mood songs because of it’s uplifting theme!

Song #3: Waterslides

Waterslides is also one of my favorite songs because it’s actually got a really great message: Live life to the fullest and enjoy life! Plus, anything that is TECHNICALLY about Waterslides is bad-ass!

Enjoy those songs and more on the Aquabats album Charge!!

Day 124: Laughing Baby

22 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

When I’m relaxing after a long day, I like to unwind with an adorable video.

So, my video of choice is the CUTEST BABY EVER! aka laughing baby.

Just sit back and enjoy.

Day 115: Ole Black And Blue Eyes by The Fratellis

12 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Does anyone remember The Fratellis? They had one hit a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlMfV7A3V00&feature=related

Yeah, while they may be considered a one hit wonder band, they are actually a really talented band that deserves some recognition.

For example, their song “Ole Black And Blue Eyes” is catchy and fun to sing along to! Plus, the video is so strange that it makes me smile when watching.

S0 check out “Ole Black And Blue Eyes” by The Fratellis! (and check out the band! They’re really good!)

Day 29: Again & Again by The Bird And The Bee

18 Jun

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page in the top right hand corner for more info on my project!

Hey-howdy-hey everyone! Sorry this post is so late! I’ve only got 10 minutes, so this post will be short and sweet.

Today I spent my whole day with my mom in her office and in Auburn. We had a terrific time, and we danced and sang to this awesome CD in my mom’s car. The first song is not only my ringtone, but it’s also one of my favorite happy sounding songs.

“Again & Again” by The Bird And The Bee may sound intense and maybe even angry, but it is really a great song that I love to sing along with and smile. I adore it. (plus the video is awesome).

Check it out!
