Day 116: in which we discuss the wonders that is Wondermark

13 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

David  Malki’s web comic “Wondermark !” is one of the of the most amazing things I’ve ever looked at.

Basically, it is created using those old victorian drawings that are stock photos, but the situations are all modern-day issues. It’s clever, often kind of manic and silly, but always funny!!

The comic below is quite possibly my favorite strip of them all.

Go check it out. It’s amazing. And hilarious!

Here’s some more of my favorites:

Squid

Emo Ape

Ants!

Day 106: Treadmillasaurus Rex

3 Sep

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Tonight a short post!

I found Treadmillasaurus Rex on armor games the other night, and it is a pile of hilarious awesomeness. You are a T-Rex running on a treadmill, and you have to avoid all obstacles, trying to get as many calories burned as possible. There’s spike balls, confetti, lazers, and tall hats!

It’s actually pretty difficult, to be honest with you. But it’s still fun!

So enjoy, Treadmillasaurus Rex!!

Day 88: Scott Pilgrim Animation

16 Aug

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I used to write movie reviews on another blog I used to have. Unfortunately, I lost all my hope updating it as often as I wanted, but I’m gonna begin updating it under a new blog page in the next week.

So I went and saw Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World this last friday, and I am pleased to say that it is wonderfully hilarious!

The music is fantastic, the one-liners are funny, and it is overall a fun piece of summer for all ages!

But before you go see the movie, check out this animation (which is sort of a precursor for the movie).

Day 87: The Mighty Boosh!

15 Aug

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Today I’m short on time, so I’ll make this quick!

I just got addicted to a great show called “The Mighty Boosh” (starring Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding). It is from England, so the humor is a little odd, but the one-liners and the rest of the randomness that is the show is just fantastic.

I am done with season one, but I’m waiting to get my season 2 and season 3 dvds in the mail! Check out clips from the show right below here!! (and check out the show itself! Season 1 and 3 are available on iTunes)

Here’s one of their songs from an episode (“Tundra”, aka my favorite episode so far)

Day 84: Wraith Pinned To The Mist And Other Games by Of Montreal

12 Aug

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Once again continuing Paste Mag video week, I bring you “Wraith Pinned To The Mist And Other Games” by Of Montreal

NOT hailing from Montreal, Of Montreal is probably the craziest band you’ll hear. While they are considered indie-rock, their music is a combination of experimental techno/glam rock/power pop/ and indie cuteness. And weirdly enough, that’s exactly what the band looks like: a mish-mash of crazy awesomeness (I’ve heard stories of them playing shows naked before. INTENSE). The coolest part of this band is that you can tell when the band is playing because of their unique sound.

This song with the long title is also known by many as the “outback” song (mainly because it’s words were changed for commercials to the Outback). However, the original song is much sweeter and kid-like (even though the video features many scenes of death!) It’s adorkable, and it makes me smile.

So enjoy “Wraith Pinned To The Mist And Other Games” by Of Montreal!

I want to party with those animals!!

Day 82: Inside Of Me by Starlight Mints

10 Aug

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

To continue Paste Mag Video Week, I bring you “Inside of Me” by the Starlight Mints.

Throughout the 90s, Starlight Mints have gone through numerous band members and come out on top of the game! Their music is a combination of indie rock and power pop, and it is fantastic for your ears.

If you’re a fan of Crowded House, The New Pornographers, or The Apples In Stereo, check out Starlight Mints!

So enjoy, “Inside Of Me” by Starlight Mints!

Day 56: A-Punk by Vampire Weekend

15 Jul

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Today, I unfortunately don’t have my special blog post, and as I’m crunched on time I have just a short post for you.

So one more thing, I apologize for my second blog post this week for the band Vampire Weekend!

Two days ago, I wrote about Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist, featuring the band’s song “Ottoman”. Well, today I’m bringing you another song that I love by the band called “A-Punk”, which has the sweetest music video ever!

So enjoy the video! and look for that blogpost tomorrow!!!
