Day 286: [BELATED] Dig A Little Deeper by Peter Bjorn and John

16 Apr

This song is so optimistic! I adore it so much!

Peter Bjorn and John, who are most well known for their song “Young Folks” (aka the whistle song), released a new CD called Gimme Some back in March. But what’s so great about it is the optimism that it reeks. This band’s music is normally so down that something like “Dig A Little Deeper” just makes you so happy on the inside!

It reminds me of a Swedish version of a Vampire Weekend song, and it’s playful tune makes me sort of dance every chance I get to hear it. I hope it puts you in a good mood, like it does with me!

Enjoy “Dig A Little Deeper” by Peter Bjorn and John!

Day 283: HEY HOMIES! by the Aquabats

12 Apr

HEY HOMIES!

I love this song. Seriously, not only is it my alarm clock in the mornings, but it’s also just the happiest song ever.

Plus we don’t need no thugs. Unless those thugs was giving out hugs.

They bring up a pretty strong argument!

By the way, I know I have posted The Aquabats before, but I’d like to remind all you guys that they are awesome. Their new CD just came out recently (Hi-Five Soup! click here to see it on iTunes) and it’s full of feel-good songs that fit perfectly with the impending summer season. I personally love “In My Dreams” and “Radio Down”…. just a few of the awesomeness that is ska-punk kids music for adults.

If you get a chance to see them live, please go. Please please please go. I’ve seen them twice, and I’m just waiting for them to come closer to me so I can go again. And don’t hesitate to dress up (no one else does).

So don those capes, put on those masks, and enjoy the life out of “Hey Homies!”

Day 249: NEW RADIOHEAD!!!

18 Feb

Hey everyone!

BEST NEWS EVER FOR TODAY AND EVER.

So, a band I’ve featured a few times on this website (aka Radiohead) had announced on Monday that they were not only done with their new CD but that they were going to release the digital version of it on this Saturday (aka tomorrow). Needless to say, I kind of freaked out when I heard the news… the last update they made was back in July of 2010, so this of course was a huge shocker to me.

Well, more good news came from the band early (and I mean EARLY) this morning when they decided to release their new album a whole day early. Yeah, that’s right. The King Of Limbs (2011) is now available here (if’n you’re like me and want to buy it… the hard copy comes out on March 28th!

ANYWAY, NPR streamed the whole album this morning, and even at only about 35 minutes, the CD is solid work!

I love it already and I’ve only listened to it twice.

You guys are in luck! I’ll post a link to the site that has the whole album streaming right now, so go check it out! (My favorite song is called “Morning Mr. Magpie”)

If you’re too lazy to go check it out on your own, watch this creepy video for their song “Lotus Flower” (featuring the lovely Mr. Thom Yorke!)

ENJOY!!!!

Also, I’d like to mention that I really appreciate all of my family and friends who are getting me through some hard times. It really doesn’t take much to make me smile, but it does help a lot. Thanks everyone :)
