I’m gonna post a short one tonight, mainly because I’m running on about 3 hours of sleep.
Sealab 2021 was one of those awesome shows on [adult swim] that made fun of those old-school 70s cartoons I used to love. With the archaic animation of the olden days of the mid-2000s, the voices of awesome people (specifically Erik Estrada!), and the completely random episodes that just don’t make sense half the time, Sealab is just a win upon wins.
Warning, this show is sort of dumb, but I can’t help but laugh every time I watch it.
So I found this gallery a few months back, and it’s just really neat.
Irina Werning is working on a project (mostly) in Buenos Aires where she finds people with old-school photos of them as a kid and then recreates the exact same picture now. Each picture gives a little insight into how these people lived their lives, and what makes it so interesting is to see how nothing has really changed!
I selected a few to put below, but I love how even the composition of how the picture was shot is the same, and for the most part the clothing stays as close to normal as possible. It’s incredible what you can do as a photographer!
Check out these and others by clicking the pictures! There will be more additions in 2011, so look out for those too!

Good golly goodness have I been a terrible blogger! My once-everyday-updating process has epic failed, and I’m super not happy that I haven’t done this in a while.
So, in honor of this, I am adding all the days I missed to the end of this year… that way, I don’t have like three weeks worth of [BELATED] posts on one day. And I don’t have to find three weeks worth of content before midnight.
Sorry guys! It’s been too long. How has life been for you?
So I am completely addicted to We Are Hunted. It’s a music website that allows you to build your own playlist based on the newest bands (and some of your favorites), that you can share with others… or just listen to!
I stumbled upon this website the other night, and despite a few hiccups and inconsistencies (many of the songs are not actually playable, despite being listed as so… also some of the songs are definitely NOT by the artists they are labeled under) it’s such an awesome sight to browse!
My favorite secition is the Emerging Charts, which focus on all types of music but brings out the best music from some of the coolest indie bands out there right now! With 100 songs right off the bat to pick, and hundreds more that are searchable, it’s easy to get lost in your own playlist!
This game is just too cute to pass up. Made by the wonderful Nitrome, “The Bucket” is a really cute little 8-bit game where you (as a fish/bonsai tree) carry a raccoon in a basket through a complicated maze.
It sounds easy, but it’s a bit challenging. However, my favorite part is just how random it is… the plot doesn’t make sense, and yet it’s so adorable – especially the fish/bonsai when it completes a level!
So enjoy “The Bucket”, and check out more games at nitrome.com! (Click the picture to play the game)
For the third post, I want to feature one of my all time favorite songs.
“Lille” by Lisa Hannigan is a different kind of song to come out of the decade, but it’s so wonderful and I love the video. I feel like I’m dreaming when I listen to it, and it inspires me to write.
I hope you enjoy Lille by Lisa Hannigan, and have a wonderful, dream-filled night!
I used to be a huge fan of Smosh videos… well, I’m still a pretty big fan but back in the day I used to have a teeshirt and watched those videos with my friends like everyday!
I sort of stopped watching the videos once I hit like junior year of high school, but last year I rediscovered my love for Ian and Anthony as I began to watch “Ian Is Bored.” It’s a video series they do each week where Ian does various things because he’s bored. I love it. A whole lot.
So today I wanted to feature my favorite one, episode four “STREET FIGHTER FAIL!”
I feel the pain in this episode because I get my ass handed to me in Street Fighter pretty much every time I play!
check it out here:
Also, check out all their other videos (like Lunchtime with Smosh, which is also hilarious) on their website: smosh.com.
For post number two, I’d like to dedicate this to my roommate Jamie (she’ll know why).
I found this game the other day and I really enjoyed playing it (especially playing as the turtle with the hat). It’s a puzzle game where you have to work your way through a level by focusing on three or more different screens. It’s really difficult to describe, so you should probably just check it out!

For today’s post, I wanted to feature an online comic that takes me by surprise every time I visit it.
“A Softer World,” by Joey Comeau and Emily Horne, takes a look at the secret minds of people in daily situations with a hipster touch. With strange photographs and cut-out word documents of phrases, it’s a piece of art every week.
I really like it because it doesn’t shy away from the dark and intense topics, but it also reignites the silly moments in life. It’s creative, it’s strangely realistic, and it’s beautiful!
Below are a couple examples from the past few weeks. But you can check out more in the archives section if you’d like. Just click the pictures to see more, and hopefully you’ll see “a softer world” we live in.
