Day 250: ASDF movie 1, 2, and 3

19 Feb

I’m really lazy tonight with my blog, so here are three hilarious videos. Enjoy!

Day 202: [BELATED] Shift!

3 Jan

Hey guys!

Sorry again for yet another late post… Sunday I moved back to Eugene for the next term and was just mentally exhausted when I got back!

For yesterday’s post, I wanted to feature a really awesome game that I thoroughly enjoy playing!

It’s called “Shift” and there are now six different versions of the game (including one for the iphone or ipod touch!)

The rules are pretty simple… get to the door in each level to continue. In order to get there, you have to unlock certain areas and learn to shift from being light to being dark (hint: the key word is “SHIFT”.)

It’s a really neat game, and all versions (except the downloadable one) are available on armorgames.com

Enjoy “Shift”!

Day 169: and yet more Sufjan (but this will BLOW YOUR MIND)

30 Nov

Hey guys!

So, yeah I know Sufjan Week is technically over… and I promised myself I wouldn’t go spouting about him a ton more (mainly because I don’t think y’all care)… But this is awesome.

His newest video for the song “Too Much” (which I featured on day 155, and is my favorite song off of Age Of Adz) kind of blows my mind. It’s a little crazy on the eyes, but I really wish I was in this music video. Mainly because it looks like they are having way too much fun.

My personal favorite part is his dance to put on the shades. Seriously, what skill… I epic fail at that every time I try.

Anyways, without further ado, check out this psychedelic video for “Too Much”…. and try not to look directly at the lines… it’ll suck you in!

Day 166: The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year

27 Nov

Hello there and happy holidays!

Again, another short blog post (I apologize. Tomorrow, I promise pictures from the trip!)

Today we found ourselves smack in the middle of a holiday parade in downtown Bellevue, and it got me back in the spirit of the  holiday season.

So, in honor of the season to be jolly, I wanted to feature my favorite song from my favorite winter movie (the scary old 60s movie Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer).

The song is called “The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year,” and it’s all about the misfit toys that don’t have homes, and how excited they get to be visited by Santa.

Before I feature the song, I’d like to point out that yes this song is a christmas song, but I respect all holidays! Happy Hanukkah and Kwanzaa!

Day 160: Marcel The Shell With Shoes On

21 Nov

Hi everyone!

Today’s blog post is going to be short, due to a paper that is begging to be finished. So I picked something that needs little explaination!

“Marcel The Shell With Shoes On” is pretty much self-explanatory. I mean, it’s a shell. With shoes on. Who happens to be named Marcel. And yet, as the 3 minute video plays, I think my insides melt with happy joy.

It’s just too cute!

So enjoy “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On”! “One time I nibbled on a piece of cheese and my cholesterol went up to 900.”

Day 151: Omnom Forest

12 Nov

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I’ve got some good stuff planned for this coming week! First, I have an interview with a band (who is awesome by the way), and next week is going to be another themed week (that has to do with adorable guys with banjos and clouds).

But for today, I have a simple game called “Omnom Forest”.

Loosely based on the movie My Neighbor Totoro, the point of the game is to have the little totoro-like things eat fruit and avoid acorns. Sound simple enough? Just wait… it gets surprisingly difficult!

I love this game. It’s so sweet and the noise they make is so adorkable. Plus, wait until you see what you have to do to calm them down if you make them mad!!

So enjoy “Omnom Forest”!

Day 143: [BELATED] Gum-bot!

12 Oct

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Of course, I forget. Once again. So I bring you one of my favorite things ever… GUMBY!

In this episode, Gumby turns into a robot (by the blockheads), and his friends have to help him come back to reality!

I hope you enjoy!

Day 139: Mindblowing 3D Light

7 Oct

Hello there! If this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I saw this on a blog I follow, and I just had to post it on here.

I can’t even describe it. It involves 3D lights and iPads. It’s amazing.

Just watch it and take it all in! Hopefully, you’ll be as mind-blown as me!

Day 138: [BELATED] Leeni!

7 Oct

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

Guys, I failed you already… After Friday’s “I’m gonna update it everyday no matter what the cause!” speech, I already forgot to update you.

Anyways, today I will (once again) do two blogposts.

One quick thing, before I get into my blogpost, if you went to my other blog looking for a blog post on “The Exploding Girl,” it is non-existent still. I will get to that as soon as I physically can!

Anyways, today I want to talk a bit about Leeni! If you remember correctly, I mentioned her in my blog post about Fighter X, where I discussed the awesome art of 8-bit techno!

One of the cool things about Leeni’s music is the vocal track. She remixes her own music using various programs, and she compliments it with her sweet sing-songy voice. It’s quite nice!

Leeni is actually pretty well known in the 8-bit community, making her mark with CDs, concerts, and even contests! She’s one of the best Seattle musicians you probably never heard of, but now you will!

Enjoy “Animatronic Boy” and “Underworld” by Leeni! (and check her out on myspace!)

One of these days I need to get 8-bit heart! Haha! Remember, check out 8bc.org if you want to listen to more 8-bit!

Day 129: The Science of Sleep

27 Sep

Hey guys, if this is your first time on the site, be sure to check out the about page at the top for more info on my project! Also, sign the guestbook (also located in the top)!

I was thinking about a really good movie today called The Science Of Sleep (2006), starring the BEAUTIFUL Gael García Bernal and the LOVELY Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Right before the movie came out in theaters, I watched the preview religiously for two months. And by religiously, I mean that I was obsessed. But there was something intriguing about the movie that I couldn’t figure out.

The plot is pretty complex: a man named Stéphane (Gael García Bernal) confuses his dreams with reality constantly, and as his father dies, he comes to the realization that his life has to start. He moves back to Paris (where his mother lives) to work for a calendar company but doesn’t fit in with its staff. Really, he doesn’t fit in with anyone…. except for his strange but sweet neighbor Stéphanie, who likes to see the world in a different way.

The film is strange and switches back and forth between reality and dream-sequences. But because of its strangeness, it is quite appealing and sweet.

But the preview makes me warm on the insides:

I highly urge everyone to check out this movie. Seriously.

(as an added bonus, I included the full length Death Cab For Cutie song that is featured in this trailer… It’s called “Your Heart Is An Empty Room”

the other two songs are called “After Hours” by The Velvet Underground and “Fear Of Sleep” by The Strokes)
